What Works: More Link Stuff
Just a quick addendum to an earlier post, Rethinking Links, where I discussed new ways to handle link ’round-up’ content. Courtesy of ScottBerkun.com comes TrueHoop Tuesday Bullets at ESPN.com. This format uses bullet points to discuss ideas and events while working the links into the coverage. I particularly like this method because it focuses mainly on the ideas and meaning behind the links, and places them in their wider context.

What Works: Freelance Switch

This week I want to take an in-depth look at Freelance Switch, a blog for freelancers. I think this site is worth examining because it’s experienced the kind of rapid growth we all dream of: from 0 to more than 10,000 subscribers in under four months.
I’ll be looking at the site first and foremost from the perspective of a reader, because I think getting inside the minds of readers is one of the best ways to discover what works and what doesn’t work about your site.
