A lot of new readers have joined the Skelliewag community in the last few months. I thought the general trend of ‘Best of 2007′ lists would be a nice way to remind both recent and long-time readers of this year’s highlights. Unfortunately, this list can’t be a true ‘Best of 2007′ round-up because Skelliewag is only five months old — but I’ll do my best!

If you’ve ever wanted to spread the word about this site, this post might just be a good place to start :-).

  1. It has been an awesome ride to watch this blog take the world by storm. It took me about two weeks in the beginning before I realized that your approach was radical and unique. No one has ever been as helpful and generous when reaching out to others. Your content, enthusiasm, and energy simply shines.

You have outperformed the entire internet. I hereby grant you permission to change this post title to “Skelliewag: Best blog in 2007.”

P.S. When can I buy your eBook?

  2. Your blog is without a doubt one of the fastest-growing I have ever witnessed in my time of the Internet. Your content is consistently first-rate and you are well on your way to becoming a professional A-list blogger, if you are not already there.

Personally, I think your article on Flickr photos is not only one of your best ever, but also one of the best blog posts I have ever read on any blog anywhere.

Your ideas are authoritative and influential and many of your dazzling posts are the very epitome of preeminence. It’s no surprise that you have an ongoing column on Darren Rowse’s A-List blog.

Your blog is going places, and I will always be a loyal reader of your value-packed articles. I really need to comment here more often and interact more with you and your fine readers.

I wish you the very best in the New Year!

    Keep right on blogging!!!

  3. I agree with the previous comments.

It is great to find blogs with no dead wood - just high quality posts every time.

It should be an exciting 2008 for Skelliewag and I wish you all the best!

  4. Bookmarked, Skellie :)
Thanks for an amazing year, I wish you all the best in 2008.

  5. I discovered Skelliewag only lately. It’s a living example of “doing things differently” rather than “doing different things”. Very resourceful, authoritative, inspiring and packed with quality tips and advice, Skelliewag is always innovating. Keep it up.
    Happy New Year.

  6. Thank you for an excellent list of your work, Skellie.

Your site and your personal style is remarkable here on the blogosphere. You have created this warm and welcoming Aussie kind of atmosphere that stands out from the rest in this huge niche of metabloggers.

Congratulations on your success so far. It’s only the beginning!

    Bente

PS. I have dug you and I have stumbled you. I think this post deserves a lot of attention. I encourage the rest of her faithful readership to join me on this :-)

  7. AL

Here’s to many years of value-packed content to come!

    Way to go Skellie!

  8. Hey I told you Skellie, you rock!
I know it isn’t easy to come up with great content and catchy headlines all the time, but you’re doing it and the growth of this blog is really the proof you’re an awesome writer/blogger. Keep it up! This spot around the top of my list in my feed reader is yours :)

  9. Wot!?
    Only five months old?
This blog is so polished, I thought it had been around forever!
So I guess I discovered you pretty much as soon as you launched.

    Stumbled 10/12/07: http://www.skelliewag.org/is-your-success-a-moving-target-106.htm

My favorite posts are the two about Flickr and Archives. I started adding Flickr images to my blog, and you have me thinking about a ways to bring life to my archives.

You and this blog are awesome. I’m glad I have bloglines, as I’m not allowed to view social networking sites at work.

    All the best in 2008!

    Mitch

  10. When I first knew you in August as a result of your visit to my blog, I was blown away by your writings especially the uncluttering of a blog. Needless to say, you have witnessed for yourself quite a transformation as far as how my blog looked like in the past couple of months.

    You are gripping, Skellie! :D

    Happy New Year!

  11. Wow, I never knew your blog was only 5 months old. I must say, that’s some awesome growth! Keep it up, Skellie!

By the way, nice posts :)

  12. JON

Youre welcome for using my photo. ;)

    Have a good one.

    Cheers,
    Jon Rawlinson.

  13. I think my readers must be the kindest in the world… you guys are so nice! Thank you :-).

@ Jon: It’s perfect. It’s nice to finally meet one of the creative geniuses behind the photography that adds so much to what I do!

  14. I’ve been subscribed to your RSS feed for a few months now and I thoroughly enoyed it.

Keep it up and have a great 2008!

  15. I’m also a bit surprised at this blog’s youth. Surely, I thought Skelliewag.org had to be much older than five months! This blog has the perfect and polished design, the detailed and authority content… I became a reader a couple months ago, thinking that this blog was at least a year old because of all its success. You’ve obviously really taken the blogosphere by storm! I can’t wait to see where 2008 takes you. Keep up the great work. :)

  16. I agree with the above comments. This blog is an inspiration, and probably should win an award for the best blog of 07, certainly in my book anyway. Keep up the great work, and I hope you have a fantastic New Year. all the best.

  17. Hi, I just wanted to tell you I linked your article 110+ Creative Resources at my blog at a Swedish design community called http://www.ungdesign.se. From reading what you said about finding and using pictures from Flickr, I concluded it would probably be ok to use your picture from that link - if it isn’t, please let me know and I will remove it at once. I love your incredibly resourceful site and send my admiration along with my thanks and best wishes for 2008.
    Love,
    /Linda

  18. @ Julian, Tay and Ali: Thank you — your comments made me smile :).

@ Linda: That’s fine — thank you for the link!

  19. I just discovered your blog. It’s WONDERFUL!

  20. Your blog has been the MOST influential to me in 2007!

You have been given a ROAR Award. Enjoy, and pass it on!

    Cheers,

    Mitch

  21. @ TheBlackActor & Mitchell: Thank you! That’s lovely :).
