Learn how to achieve blogging Zen, write/publish/sell an eBook, protect your online identity, dream up big ideas and then give them away, write a memorable (and different) list-post, boost productivity with an organized desk, read Kottke on tumblelogs and finish your first book. Bonus: are you prepared for a blogging emergency?
Zen and the Art of Remarkable Blogging
Learning to detach from statistics and variables I can’t control has done a lot to make the blogging process more peaceful and focused. This article posits a strategy I have been learning to follow for some time: focusing only on being excellent at the things you can control, and disregarding benchmarks you can’t. If you measure your success by statistics, or subscribers, you’re being ruled by forces you have no sway over.
How to Write, Create / Publish, Market, and Sell an eBook or Information Product Online
A guide from Aaron Wall, who wrote SEOBook (not aff). Advice from someone who is making a living off the process is worth heeding.
Handbook for Bloggers and Cyber-Dissidents: Reporters Without Borders
Kudos go to Tad Chef for pointing this out — an omission from my 28 eBooks post. This .pdf is for those brave individuals blogging in a location where freedom of speech is limited and bloggers face repercussions for what they write online.
“So, if you’ve got ideas, let them go. They’re probably holding you back from the hard work of actually executing.” I would say this quote sums up the philosophy behind Skelliewag better than I could. I’d be interested to hear whether the article rings true for you as well.
One of the most innovative and interesting list-posts I’ve seen in a while, and no, it’s not a list of suggestions you should try. From Hugh McLeod of gapingvoid.
Declutter Your Desk to Improve Your Productivity
I’m staring out at a sea of books, papers, coins, socks (?), other clothes, and dust. In other words, I need to heed the advice in this post. Care to join me in a clean-up?
I’m a tumblelog evangelist. If you give me the chance, I’ll set one up for you. This article is Jason Kottke in 2005 giving his take on this new blog format. Are you following me?
Complete Your First Book with these 9 Simple Writing Habits
If you want to pick someone as a blogging role-model, pick Leo Babauta. Anyone trying to forge their name through advice writing should study him like a young chess player studies Gary Kasparov.

I’ve been collecting your posts and links about publishing ebooks, since I have a friend trying to figure out the process. Thank you.

I hope it has been helpful, Gemma. It’s something I’m working towards, and it can be pretty daunting! Hopefully the articles come in useful for both of us
